Passport & ID Basics for U.S. Travelers
U.S. citizens traveling directly between the U.S. mainland and the U.S. Virgin Islands are traveling within the United States and generally do not need a passport for that domestic trip. Adults age 18 and older flying through TSA checkpoints must still carry a REAL ID-compliant state ID or another TSA-accepted form of identification, such as a passport.
