Mount Scenery dominates tiny Saba and offers one of the Caribbean’s most distinctive summit hikes. The trail climbs from Windwardside through rainforest into a cool, misty cloud forest.
Saba Tourism describes the route as strenuous and says it includes more than 1,000 stone steps to the summit, the highest point in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
What the hike is like
Humidity, steep stairs and slick upper sections make the climb harder than its distance suggests. The summit is often wrapped in cloud, so panoramic views are never guaranteed.
